Head Coach Tyler

Tyler Jones has been coaching with the Dolphins for six years. His water polo journey began with the Dolphins at age 13, later continuing with Mako in Calgary and the Torpedoes, as well as representing Team Alberta in California and New Zealand. He also spent three years refereeing, gaining a well-rounded perspective on the game. As head coach, Tyler is dedicated to helping athletes develop life skills such as discipline, respect, teamwork, confidence, and resilience - while also having fun and building a lasting love for the sport. Fun fact: Tyler enjoys hiking and photography.

Assistant Head Coach Anthony

I have played water polo for 14 years (11 years with Mako, and my last 3 with Torpedoes Calgary's NCL Club). I made Team Alberta in 2020. I started when I was 5 years old, I couldn't even swim at the time. I had to use a floatie belt, and my coach would make me play goalie because I couldn't swim up and down the pool. Water polo taught me the value of hard work, in order to conquer your fear of failing; if you learn to face the fear and show up and work everyday there's nothing you can't do. That is why I love water polo.

Coach Avery

I’ve played water polo for over 10 years, and this year will be my fourth year coaching with the Dolphins. I love being part of the sport and enjoy helping players grow.

Coach Audralyn

- 19 years old
- I have played for nine years and coached for three years
- Started at Mount Royal University in the Fall taking environmental science

Coach Lexi

I started playing water polo when I was 9, and when I first started I played for the Dolphins. I then started playing for the Calgary Renegades and Team Alberta as well. Last year was my first year coaching and I really like it because it allows me to teach kids the sport that I really loved playing, and I can continue being a part of the water polo community.

Junior Coach Brooklyn

- My name is Brooklyn Smith and I played water polo for five years with the Okotoks Dolphins and this is my second year coaching with them.
- I believe that it is important for players to understand not just the basic points of the game but the subtle ones as well. Every player deserves the same opportunities to thrive and grow no matter their skill set or background. With these things in mind I try to give an equal amount of attention and advice to every player.
- I love water polo because of its hard nature and competitive spirit, as well as its strong teamwork and quick thinking. I believe that water polo is an underrated sport that deserves more recognition, especially in the western world. I will forever love and cherish water polo.
- Fun Fact: I was afraid of swimming for 7 years of my life and it was water polo that forced me to overcome this fear and grow.

Junior Coach Lucas

Hi I am Coach Lucas, I am a junior coach for the Prairie Dolphins Water Polo Club and this is my first year as a junior coach. I have been playing water polo for 8 years now and am very excited to start a new year coaching. For me I love to play water polo because of how it's challenging, fun and exhilarating. Another thing is I love how unique it is, it is kind of like a combination of sports that bring out the best parts of those sports. I have a deep passion for this sport and am excited to share it through coaching.
